I grew up in Hungary and graduated in andragogy from a university in Budapest. Andragogy means the understanding of the science and practice of adult learning. I chose this disciple with the purpose of helping people in self-development and thanks to my studies, I'm a firm believer in the mission of lifelong learning, that regardless of age or background everybody should have the right to learn and achieve personal growth.
Unfortunately, in the last couple of years, I failed to give enough attention to my personal development. After graduation, I worked for a training organizer company in Budapest, thinking about enrolling on a postgraduate course in London. I moved to London half a year ahead of the start of the course to settle in, prepare myself financially and start the application. Suddenly realized, that life was harder than I thought it would be. I started to work as a waitress, and because of the unbalanced working schedule, I lost perspective and I didn't complete the application.
In the upcoming years, I lost my purpose and drifted with a tide of uncertainty. After a while, physical work was strenuous, and I took advantage of the first office job opportunity that came my way, and I started to work as an ecommerce and customer service executive for a Hungarian based international company remotely from London. Due to the pandemic, I lost this job this year. When I was looking for a new job opportunity, I was unsure, which job would be the best fit for me, and I was enlightened that I was on the wrong path and I didn't have any goals. That's when I met programming languages...
Founders and Coders provides a highly inclusive, diverse and amicable environment for those, whose about to discover the unknown, which is a tough and scary situation to be in for someone, who is new in the world of programming.
When I joined the community as a pre-applicant I couldn't handle the knowledge and new skills I gained ahead of the pre-application. Thanks to the FAC community, the workshops, the meetups and the fellow applicants everything came together: the usage of different program languages and the logic behind them. I soon recognised it is a safe place. The fear of the unknown has disappeared and has been replaced by curiosity. As a consequence of the community's positive values, during the workshops and meetups, a cooperative environment was formed, which has the aim of learning from each other by helping each other and meeting different approaches.
I'm beyond grateful for these last months for the Founders and Coders community as I learned countless amounts of hard and soft skills, which I will benefit from for the rest of my life.
When I was looking for a new job I realized, that I was not sure, what I would like to do for a living. That's when I decided to identify my interests to find the right career path, set a goal for myself and do my best to achieve it. As I've been interested in motorsport since my childhood, I started to map this field regarding career options and found the term software developer. I dig deeper and deeper to understand what's behind this term, and what it takes to become a software developer. I felt that although it is going to be a challenging journey, I can still find the motivational factor in it.
I started to watch tutorials and "how to become a software developer" YouTube videos and read articles. I learned about the different fields and pathways of software development, and I found front-end appealing to me the most because of its creative aspect. Therefore, I started the freeCodeCamp online courses and attended the Code First Girls online introduction to web development course. In the meantime, I've found Founders and Coders and participating in pre-application workshops and meetups and completing all the weekly prompts I recognise a noticeable development in my way of approaching problems, in my logical way of thinking and in the effectiveness of finding a solution as a community
As the isolation period caused by the global pandemic forced people to find comfort in new daily activities, I found creating decorative and homely objects peaceful, so I started to pour sculptural candles. I still love creating them, especially for family and friends.
This is my best friend, Guba. She is a mix-breed dog, although she can be easily mistaken for a furry rug. :)
I play softball in my free time. I started to visit the diamond field when I was a teenager and since then I have been playing it every now and then.
Formula 1 is my biggest obsession. I have been following the championship since I was 12 years old. Team McLaren
